If you've read my previous books, and have put some time into making some of the items shown therein, you should by now have a reasonably well tooled shop. Of course nobody's shop is ever fully tooled, and there are lots of things a fella might like to have that he either doesn't need, or can't afford, or both, in either order. However, when you get a new shop supply catalog in the mail, and can go through it from end to end and find only a few items you want to buy, you know your shop must be pretty well equipped. And then of course comes the question, "Now what to do with all this jammy stuff?!" The answers to that question, of course, are pretty diverse, and range from steam locomotive models to cars to guns to home-built aircraft, etc.

Not all of us can afford the time to pursue some of the ideas we might like to, either because of job or family obligations, or the money just isn't there to (a) really tool up the shop the way we'd like it, or (b) thereafter indulge in some particular pursuit that attracts us.

This book may solve one or more of the above problems for you. In the pages that follow, you will find projects to improve your shop's tooling, projects that will make enjoyable use of what time you may have for workshop pursuits, and a variety of ideas on how to make a buck in your shop.

The latter will not interest everyone. But if your shop activities must pay their way, or put bread on the table, you may find some interesting ideas herein. If you don't care to make a buck in your shop, some of the very same projects and ideas may interest you from a completely different perspective, and/or other ideas may (hopefully will) have you fairly exploding with the desire to tear off to your shop to start making something.

If this book helps you have fun and/or make money in your shop, it will have succeeded in its purpose.

In choosing what to include in this book (and its predecessors), I wonder to myself, "Will the guys like this, or will they not?"
