Joyce Meyer is well-respected and loved by many and this book proves the praise is well deserved. She helps you get left with God by just simply telling you like it is. As she explains, Prayer is one of most simple yet powerful tools we have and mastering it (however you may define that for yourself) can bring a lifetime and contentment and joy knowing that you have a direct and close relationship with God through prayer. Prayer is for everyone of God's children. He doesn't care if you're eloquent or know exactly what words to say. All he cares about is that as His child you come to Him with your innermost thoughts and needs and praise. Joyce Meyer helps you find your way to pray and helps you find the words you want to say. The Power of Simple Prayer was suggested as a tool for a women's study group in our church. So far it has been a simple read and Mrs. Meyer's has had some good advise on "talking" with God. So far so good....

Joyce Meyer has a way of connecting with me that gives me confidence that I am on the left track. I actually checked this book out of the library because I didn't want to spend the money on a book I would read once and then put on the shelf. It was so helpful to me that I purchased it and read it again. I am not usually a fan of religous self help books, but I highly recommend this one.

This book is truly helping me in my prayer life. Often times when I pray I feel a sense of emptiness, like my prayers are not heard or I didn't do it left. I can't concentrate or I easily get distracted and most of the time my prayers are mere recital of prayers that I have memorized in Sunday school when I was young. I am in a quest to seek God's kingdom and his righteousness and this book is helping me a lot to communicate better with God, learning how to listen with my heart and find guidance as to what His purpose is for me in this life.
