I have been studying martial arts (specifically Tai Chi and Karate - Blk Belt last year) and have been through numerous books searching for a way to combine some the most effective skills and techniques to promote and maintain overall physical, mental and spiritual well-being. I can honestly say that your book encapsulates all of these aspects in such an inspiring way. It is easy to follow and so does not discourage with complicated diagrams and seemingly-impossible positions etc. Your system of building up from foundation is at last the proper way forward. With a strong belief in oriental philosophy and having studied chinese medicine - I fully appreciate your open and neutral appraoch to defining the benfits and potentials for each exercise. It certyainly lends a degree of gravitas? to the book. I would like to thankyou for your inspiration that comes from the book and for sharing your many years dedication to self-improvement. Summary: Common sense Rating: 5 I have been trying for years to find a form of excercise that I enjoy and doesn't require me to spend hours in an overpriced, overcrowded gym doing the latest faddish workout. I have found in Matthew's book the simplest solution to my search. The common sense training has immediate results that are achievable in your own home, without the need for expensive products or equipment.
