More Linux. Installation, Konfiguration, Anwendung Das Linux-Standardwerk neu überarbeitet: Auf dem neuesten Stand präsentiert Michael Kofler sein Linux. Installation, Konfiguration, Anwendung in der sechsten Auflage, dessen knapp 1.300 Seiten neben den bekannten Linux-Eigenschaften die aktuellen Entwicklungen und Erweiterungen des freien Betriebssystems für Anfänger und User zugänglich machen. Warum Koflers Wälzer trotz großer Konkurrenz über sechs Auflagen das viel gelobte Standardwerk für den Linux-Einsteiger geblieben ist, zeigt sich mit jeder Ausgabe aufs Neue: Es wird immer besser. Bei einem so umfangreichen Buch bleibt die Benutzerfreundlichkeit angesichts der Masse des Inhalts in der Regel leicht auf der Strecke -- nicht so bei Kofler, der vor allem die Zugänglichkeit der Linux-Materie an erste Stelle stellt. Für einen Um- und Einsteigewilligen zu Linux mit oder ohne Vorerfahrung bietet sich, was Zugang, Umfang und praktisches Wissen rund um die Arbeit mit dem Linux-System und seinen Zusatzprogrammen betrifft, kaum eine Alternative. Ohne sich auf das Angebot einer bestimmten Distribution zu versteifen werden in der sechsten Auflage die neuen Features wie etwa die Journaling Dateisysteme und der Logical Volume Manager vorgestellt.
