Kant's Analogies of Experience

The aim of this book is to present an account of Kant's argument in the Analogies of Experience. Special emphasis is given to the Second Analogy, the theory of causality that Kant presents in the Analytic. More than usual care is given to the discussion of the details of his causal theory such as, for example, the simultaneity of cause and effect, the relationship between causality, accidental occurrences, and teleology, the distinction between causation and interaction, and the connection between causation and the hypothetical form of judgment. Kant's views on space and time and judgment are discussed to the extent that these views form the background in terms of which his causal theory is to be understood.
