Poco a poco empezamos a sentir el cuerpo lento de reflejos, rígido, y notamos un rendimiento decreciente en los ejercicios físicos. Es fácil también que, como resultado de dicho proceso surjan molestias en la espalda u otras zonas delicadas del organismo. La práctica de deportes no consigue aliviar enteramente esas deficiencias, pues con ellos se añaden tensiones suplementarias a los músculos y no se consigue detener su proceso de contracción. Los ejercicios de estiramiento que describe este extra no presentan tales inconvenientes. Todos ellos van dirigidos a devolver la flexibilidad y la relajación al cuerpo, disminuyendo el anquilosamiento de los músculos y las articulaciones. Esto los convierte en un método excelente para retrasar la vejez. Son ejercicios sencillos, aptos para cualquier edad, que se realizan siempre dentro de los límites propios de cada persona y sin espíritu de competición. CONTENIDO: - Guía completa de ejercicios para aprender a estirar cada parte del cuerpo. - Estiramientos para los diversos momentos del día: al levantarse, andando; después de haber estado sentado; para la espalda; para mayores de 50 años; viendo la televisión, etc. - series específicas de estiramiento para evitar las tensiones provocadas por cada deporte: artes marciales; baloncesto, balonmano, beísbol, ciclismo, correr, danza, esquí nórdico, esquí alpino, frontón, fútbol, gimnasia, golf, halterofilia, hockey, natación, patinaje artístico, surf, squash, tenis, voleibol, waterpolo, etc. - Ejercicios de fotalecimiento muscular para correr o ir en bicicleta: programas semanales y técnicas correctas. - Notas sobre alimentación. - Como cuidar la espalda (apéndice final).
