We've really got the end the superstition attached to death. Doctors keep people alvive even tho they're rightfully dead. Of course there's the religious nonsense too. If there was a god, wouldn't it look kindly on those those who decided to end unnecessary suffering? If not; do christians & the like take medication to ease the pain of a headache, toothache, cancer, etc? It's just a total cop-out to say we can't decide when to end the life of a body beyond repair.

Ignorance is ignorance & until we know better then we have to act within the constraints of our knowledge while maintaining what is obviously best in whatever situation. Euthanasia & assisted suicide are obviously far more humane than drugging or standing by watching someone suffer.
