The composition of the opera "Marius and Fanny" was prompted by an order placed by the Opera de Marseille Vladimir Cosma, in order to achieve a lyric book of the works of Marcel Pagnol.

The work was created in early September 2007 at the Opera de Marseille.

In the meantime, all the fairies had looked at the cradle of a work that Vladimir Cosma has composed for nearly two years, with all the science and sincerity of a composer who is surely one of mélodistes greatest of his time - and yes, a great classical composer, meaning the most serious and most successful.

Angela Gheorghiu and Roberto Alagna, seduced by the project and through collaboration with Vladimir Cosma, wanted to participate in the adventure and have recorded this album excerpts, with the prestigious London Symphony Orchestra conducted by the composer, even before the world premiere of the work at the Opera de Marseille.

"Marius and Fanny," you will hear, is a work whose air does leave you more after a single hearing, a work magic in which the best conventions of the opera are performed with virtuosity and freshness by Cosma, with its generosity and melodic orchestral inimitable.

Much work People, in short, and an invitation to love opera and voice. With "Fanny and Marius," Vladimir Cosma has offered to the operatic stage a generous gift whose existence has only just begun.
