More Pertamina (Perusahaan Tambang Minyak Negara, lit. 'State Oil Company') is an Indonesian government-owned corporation which extracts and refines the country's oil and gas reserves. It was created in August 1968 by the merger of Pertamin (established 1961) and Permina (established 1957). source: WIKIPEDIA As part of a rebranding initiative, PT Pertamina (Persero), Indonesia¡¯s state-owned gas company, appointed Landor, a design consultant, to design a new logo. No tender was conducted, with Landor being appointed directly by Pertamina. The commission decided that Pertamina had violated article 19(d)2 of the Competition Law prohibiting discriminatory practices. The commission found, among other things, that: ? Landor had received special treatment from Pertamina because there was no attempt by Pertamina to engage other design consultants and that other competent and interested design consultants were ignored; ? by not conducting a tender, Pertamina had not given itself the opportunity to compare the prices, scope and quality of Landor¡¯s services with those of other design consultants; ?
