More Modern Pharmacology With Clinical Applications, Sixth Edition Building on the strengths of previous editions, the Sixth Edition of Modern Pharmacology with Clinical Applications continues to provide an up-to-date and comprehensive textbook for students of pharmacology. Focusing on the clinical application of drugs within a context of the major principles of pharmacology, this text supplies both students and faculty with an introduction to modern pharmacotherapeutics. This is a great resource for learning how to make informed decisions about which drugs are left for your clients based on their individual medical history. If you are looking for a book that will teach you about drug dosing, this is NOT the book for you. It IS designed to teach mechanism of action, pharmacokenetics, adverse reactions, etc, of drugs based on their classification. The only drawback I found was that from chapter to chapter there were so many different authors, that there was an inconsistency in the writing and teaching styles. Some chapters were well written for my level of education (I am a nurse practitioner student), while others were talking well above my head. Most of us in NP school took our chemistry classes many years ago, so those authors who delve deep into the chemical level of drugs needed to clarify and simplify some of their teachings.
