This book is intended to be useful for inspiration for tomorrow's lesson, as well as challenging existing attitudes to ICT and young children. It introduces useful perspectives on a range of issues relating to ICT and research that can help with classroom processes in straightforward language.

The book considers the special position of ICT in the curriculum and considers a range of subject areas separately in order to look at issues teachers face in relation to the subject learning in that area, as well as dilemmas for individual learners. Examples show how assessment is a vital part of the process. The book focuses on conceptual aspects based on research outcomes and viewed through discussion of practical classroom approaches, with the pupil viewed as a competent learner in the context of the global citizen.

It has the potential to contribute to courses at initial training level and for continuing professional development since it introduces key issues of importance for all concerned with ICT and the early years curriculum.
