This set of lecture notes about nanoscience and nanotechnology should explain to the student some of the underlying concepts behind "nano". The motivation for this was to describe to the student the physics behind each concept or assumption commonly encountered in the nano literature rather than just providing a qualitative overview of developments in the field.
