More - 2001 <Warner Music Brasil> Gilberto Gil was born in the district of Tororo, in Salvador, Bahia. His father, Dr. José Gil Moreira and his mother Claudine, in search of a better life, they change the poor neighborhood of Salvador into the state in Ituaçu at the time a village with about eight hundred inhabitants. Gil Ali spent the first eight years of life. This period the artist records the influence of music heard, especially on the radio: "... With eight years back to Salvador, where he studies at Marist College, and attends an academy accordion.
