More El Carro De Infanteria Matilda (Carros De Combate 5) By David Flatcher En 1929, el Jefe del Estado Mayor General Imperial anunció una revisión a fondo de los efectivos y organización del Ejército británico, provocada por los recientes progresos en mecanización. Se propuso empezar por la infantería, para lo cual se designaron dos brigadas con propósitos experimentales, cada una de ellas apoyada por un batallón de carros ligeros, equipados de momento con los diminutos portaametralladoras Carden-Lloyd Mark VI, aunque estos vehículos eran totalmente inadecuados para dicha tarea. Los ejercicios pronto pusieron de manifiesto que la infantería esperaría que sus carros efectuasen la ruptura inicial contra las posiciones defensivas enemigas, lo que implicaba un carro de movimientos lentos, bien blindado para absorber un castigo considerable.
