More Die mittleren Zugkraftwagen der Wehrmacht 1934-1945 (Waffen-Arsenal 134) By Reinhard Frank "Der m. Zgkw. 5 t dient zum Ziehen von Anhängelasten mit einem Gesamtgewicht bis 5.000 kg. Er ist ein Halbkettenfahrzeug, das gelenkt wird erstens durch Einschlag der Vorderräder und zweitens durch ein Lenkgetriebe, welches bei größerem Einschlag der Vorderräder die Kettenlaufwerke beeinflußt. Die Gleisketten werden durch vorne liegende Triebräder angetrieben. " Die Entwicklung des 5-Tonners begann 1934 bei Büssing-NAG in Berlin-Oberschönweide. Das Fahrzeug war als Zugmittel für die verschiedenen Pionier-Anhänger und die 10.5 cm leichte Feldhaubitze vorgesehen. Nach verschiedenen Erprobungsfahrzeugen erschien 1935 der Typ BN1 5 (auch BNL 5 geschrieben); 1936 folgte der äußerlich unveränderte Typ BN1 7. der anstelle des Motors Maybach NL 35 (90 PS) nun mit dem Maybach NL 38 (100 PS) ausgerüstet war. Ab 1938 wurde der Typ BN1 8 ausgeliefert. Dieser hatte ein um 2 Laufrollen verlängertes Kettenlaufwerk, aber noch den 100-PS-Motor. 1939 folgte als Abschluß- ausführung der Typ BN 9 mit dem 115-PS-May-bach-Motor HL 54. (Anmerkung: ab 1938/39 entfielen die Werksbezeichnungen "1 für leicht" und "m für mittel", da sie nicht mit den Wehrmachtsbezeichnungen übereinstimmten.) Die Büssing-NAG-Typen BN15. BN17 undBN18 wurden von Daimler-Benz unter der Bezeichnung DBI5, DB1 7 und DB 8 nachgebaut. Der Typ BN 9 wurde bis 1944 von Praga in Lizenz gebaut. Eine Unterscheidung der einzelnen Hersteller ist nur anhand des Kühler-Emblems möglich. Der Pionier-Aufbau (Sd.Kfz. 6) verfügte vorne über 3 und auf den hinteren 3 Bänken über 12 Sitzplätze. Der Artillerie-Aufbau (Sd.Kfz. 6/1) hatte 11 Sitzplätze und die entsprechende Bereitschaftsmunition im Stauraum. Das Sd.Kfz. 6/2 war eine Selbstfahrlafette mit 3.7 cm Flak 36: als Zuglast war ein Munitions-Anhänger vorgesehen. Die durchschnittliche Fertigungszeit des Sd.Kfz. 6 laut Datenblätter betrug 15 Monate, bei einem Preis von RM 30.000. Insgesamt wurden etwa 3.500 Fahrzeuge gebaut.
