A real highlight in the Black Saint catalog – killer duets between the tenor of Dewey Redman and drums of Ed Blackwell – old partners from their days with Ornette Coleman, sounding just as brilliant here on their own! The style here is looser and freer than their work with Ornette, but handled with a similar respect for rhythmic progression – recorded with a style that's almost loft jazz overall, but with a sharper focus that we really love.
