More Dietrich Schwanitz “Bildung. Alles, was man wissen muß" Das Buch ist natürlich eine Frechheit. Das war nicht anders zu erwarten bei einem Autor, der bundesrepublikanische Bildungszustände mit seinem Erfolgsroman Der Campus dem Gelächter preisgegeben hat. Das Buch ist natürlich nicht die Frechheit, als die es daherkommt. Das ist heute nicht mehr zu erwarten, wo demonstrative Unbildung als ausgesprochen telegen gilt ("Hier wird Sie geholfen!"). Bildung, lautet das Credo derer, die dazugehören, kann man ja nicht "lernen", man muß sie erwerben. Mühsam. Ein Leben lang: Klavier mit vier, humoristisches Gumminasium mit Griechisch und Latein, Tanzstunde, Auslandsstudium. Am Ende sagt man dann Sätze, die alle klingen wie Schwanitz auf Seite 398 vorführt:"Wie Sie wissen, ist der Strukturalismus nur ein verkappter Neukantianismus". Aber wichtig ist, wie man auf so einen Partysatz zu reagieren hat, um als gebildeter Mensch zu gelten. Zum Beispiel kann man guten Gewissens "ein Geräusch verursachen wie eine Kuh, die zu muhen anhebt, aber es sich dann anders überlegt". Landläufige Bildung in Europa ist ja keineswegs allumfassend. Die Zahl der Themen und Gegenstände, über die es Bescheid zu wissen gilt, ist überschaubar. Ihnen widmet Schwanitz die erste Hälfte des Bandes, knapp 400 Seiten: Literatur, Kunst, Musik, Philosophie, Ideologien pointiert, witzig und äußerst erhellend dahingeplaudert. Der eigentliche Kern aber ist der zweite Teil, der sich damit beschäftigt, das im ersten Teil erworbene Wissen strategisch richtig und eben "gebildet" anzuwenden. Schwanitz dürfte diesen Herbst viel diskutiert werden (kaufen, lesen und -- gebildet --mitreden!), aber der Band reflektiert ungeachtet der Ironie durchaus ein wichtiges Thema: Was ist Bildung? --Michael Winteroll "
