More Albatros C.VII (Windsock Datafile 77) By Peter M. Grosz The Albatros C.VII played an important role in the first air war, particularly the 1916/17 winter campaigns when German airmen found the type to be reliable, robust and easy to fly; important attributes for any combat aircraft. Medium range reconnaissance, artillery spotting and light bombing operations, the Albatros C.VII excelled in them all and served in large numbers on the Western Front for many months. It remained in service up until mid 1917 finally giving way to the excellent DFW C.V, LVG C.V and Rumpler CIV biplanes that have already been documented in this series. Now the Albatros C.VII comes in for the unique DATAFILE treatment and with the aid of many photos and Marty Digmayer's splendid new scale drawings, resident author Peter M Grosz provides a valuable document of this hitherto largely overlooked classic.
