On the day this record was reviewed, it was done in the completely wrong circumstances. Ideally, everything would have been perfect if the sun had been baking down whilst a group of people lounged around in the sun drinking warm alcohol and devouring a barbeque. Bless the ever trusty English weather to ruin that plan. Instead, it was time to crank up the volume on the stereo and turn on the heading to vaguely capture the summer vibe.

Certain music feels better in different situations. Zero 7 for example are perfect for lounging around to letting the world just get on with its thing. In terms of using them to soundtrack the busy hustle and bustle of a crowded city, they might not be the most suitable. But for hanging around to, nothing could be more in terms of pinpoint perfection.

Whilst this isn’t a brand new album, it’s an album that is crammed full of songs that basically scream, “we can make your grumpy mood disappear in seconds”. And why that particular comment? The collection of songs contains Zero 7’s trademark lounge style complete with a jazz-funk edge.

Zero 7 are multi-million selling artists in their own left with Mercury Music nominations to proudly show off on their CV. Even though they have a strong dedicated following, this does feel like it’s a showcase to get more casual listeners in to the band and let potential fans know they have more to offer then smash hit 'Destiny'. Other people may know of the group through their remix of Radiohead’s 'Climbing Up The Walls' which could have easily been used as Radiohead’s own song when they went experimental during the 'Kid A' era.

Once again the debate rages about the point in compilation albums. After all, most Oasis fans didn’t need to rush out and purchase the group's post split up release. With enough online stores like iTunes and Amazon, people can easily take a handful of songs from album one and take a pinch of material from another release to make their own record.
