More Jacques Marseille, "Vive la crise et l'inflation! (French Edition)" En 1983, nous exorcisons un "triste" anniversaire. En 1973 en effet, l'O.P.E.P. décidait de quadrupler le prix du pétrole brut et, depuis 10 ans, les économies capitalistes sont dans le "trou noir", attendant désespérément la "sortie du tunnel". De plus, l'inflation qui redouble semble rogner les épargnes comme elle déprime les esprits. Faut-il porter le deuil ? Probablement pas. A l'échelle de l'histoire, ces phases de déprime (elles durent en moyenne 25 ans) sont peut-être les plus riches en innovations de toute sorte. Quant à l'inflation, seuls les fétichistes de la monnaie peuvent en regretter les effets. Pour les Français endettés – ils sont une majorité – l'arrêt de l'inflation serait une véritable catastrophe. Alors quand sortirons-nous enfin du "tunnel" ? En 1995… peut-être ! Qu'aurons-nous gagné à la crise ? Des emplois ? Un P.I.B. allègre ? Une monnaie stable ? Certainement pas. Mais plus de temps libre et des horaires de travail moins contraignants, probablement. Alors… Vive la crise et l'inflation ? Jacques Marseille, 37 ans, agrégé d'histoire, maître-assistant à l'Université de Paris VIII, achève sa thèse sur les rapports économiques entre la France et son empire colonial de 1880 à 1958. Alain Plessis, 50 ans, agrégé d'histoire, ancien élève de l'Ecole normale supérieure, docteur d'Etat, est professeur à l'Université de Paris VIII. Spécialiste d'histoire bancaire, sa thèse étudiait l'évolution de la Banque de France sous le Second Empire. NO MIRORS!!!
