A gritty, country-leaning roots rock band out of Oklahoma, the Turnpike Troubadours at their best synthesize the populist, political folk of Woody Guthrie and the outlaw-styled honky tonk of Waylon Jennings with doses of bluegrass, Cajun and straight-out rock dynamics. Fronted by singer and guitarist Evan Felker and including bassist R.C. Edwards, fiddler Kyle Nix, guitarist Ryan Engelman and drummer Giovanni Carnuccio, the group celebrates and explores modern rural life with a full awareness of history, delicately avoiding being ornate revivalists. A debut album, the self-released Bossier City, appeared in 2007. The follow-up, Diamonds & Gasoline, was produced by veteran songwriter Mike McClure and released in 2010. <AMG>

Named for the bumpy toll-roads of Oklahoma and their rough-hewn, folk-singing heroes, the Turnpike Troubadours are proof that isolation can be the mother of originality. Cutting their teeth in roadside dancehalls and honkey-tonks has made a genuine impact on the band's unique musical style, walking the proverbial line between Woody Guthrie and Waylon Jennings. The live show reflects years of coercing skeptical crowds into responding to unfamiliar music; it is fast, gritty, and often drenched in beer, but the band always delivers a masterful performance and a great time. the Turnpike Troubadours continue to gain ground on the Texas/Red Dirt Music scene, both figuratively and literally, as they play a relentless number of shows throughout Texas and Oklahoma, sharing the stage with prestigious acts of all genres.

On August 31, 2010, the band is set to release it's second album - Diamonds And Gasoline, produced by Red Dirt veteran Mike McClure - on Onward Music. The album's debut single 'Every Girl', is currently blazing up the Texas Music chart and Texas Regional Radio Report - one of the fastest rising new singles from a new artist in 2010 - introducing even more listeners to the band through various radio outlets.
