It started as a joke and then got serious. Sort of. Sullivan McLeod decides to combine his two favourite things - surfing and travelling - in a last-ditch attempt to get a career. Despite the fact that he is unfit physically, financially and possibly mentally, his grand plan is to become a professional surfer. Sully's quest takes him to competitions in Indonesia, South Africa, England, France Portugal, Spain, Brazil and Hawaii. Along the way, even though everything he owns is stolen and he gets locked up in a holding cell, he still manages to catch the wave of a lifetime. Luckily, his experience as a stand-up comedian helps him see the funny side of nearly everything. If you've ever dreamed of being a professional even though you're clearly an amateur, this book will show you what it's like to be single-minded in the pursuit of a goal and what a great (if hair-raising) time you can have along the way.
