Fans of John McLaughlin, John Scofield, Pat Metheny will warm up quickly to the guitar work of Terje Rypdal, as he is joined in concert (June 26, 1994) by two other virtuosi - Miroslav Vitous on bass and Trilok Gurtu on percussion - on "Live In Stuttgart". The set list feature three Rypdal originals, two Gurtu compositions, and a Vitous original work. Vitous singing style on bass, and the amazing 'two-hands-sounds-like-eight-hands' technique of Gurtu give Rypdal a great foundation with which to improvise, as the trio fuses Indian rhythms with elements of jazz and rock.

The Recording:

I received this recording thrown in as a freeby together with several audio bootlegs. There was no info whatsoever except for the names of the players and the track titles, so I assumed this was a bootleg of a live performance. When I googled for more information I found out that there exists a commercially released DVD of these three musicians with exactly the same tracklist. So I assume that this isn't a bootleg but an audio rip of the DVD.

I don't know how the audio rip was done, so I can only give incomplete lineage information:

DVD > ? > WAV > flac front end > FLAC (8, sector align)
