Thomas Metscher - Mimesis

Mimesis soll als Grundkategorie einer dialektischen Theorie der Künste eingeführt werden. Dafür wird eine dialektisch-systematische Skizze des Begriffs angelegt: Mimesis ist eine Weise der Widerspiegelung von Realität, die selbst Realität ist, und insofern eine ontologisch-erkenntnistheoretische Kategorie. Sie erfasst zugleich auch das Verhältnis von Natur und Kultur und ist insofern eine anthropologische Kategorie. Vor diesem Hintergrund zeigt sich ihre kunsttheoretische Seite: Mimesis offenbart Verborgenes; sie macht sichtbar, was bisher unsichtbar war; sie entwirft eine Welt aus menschlicher Perspektive. Diese drei Seiten des Mimesisbegriffs werden aus Überlegungen von Aristoteles bis hin zu Benjamin, RicÖur und Hans Heinz Holz entwickelt.
