More Kevin Killeen, Peter Forshaw, "The Word and the World: Biblical Exegesis and Early Modern Science" This book explores the impact of biblical reading practices on scientific thought in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. Looking beyond the canonical figures of science and exploring the full European stage, the collection addresses the presuption that natural philosophers forged their new sciences despite rather than because of the pervasive bible-centeredness of early modern thought.
