More Instrumental Jazz | Label: Verve Pianist Ramsey Lewis and his trio released this live album in 1964, recorded at the Bohemia Caverns in Washington, D.C. Lewis offers up the accessible, swinging jazz-pop for which he was known. The program includes bossa nova ("People"), ballads ("Fly Me to the Moon"), and a medley of songs from WEST SIDE STORY. This stylistic variety is capably handled by the sympathetic rhythm section and Lewis, whose classical training shines through, yet never impedes his ability to swing. Tracklist 1.
