This is perhaps one of the most un-authentic translation of the quran. So much so that it appears to be intended for the purpose of smear and distortion, since it is from a western publisher. It contains deliberately wrong translations, all over the 'work'.

The MOST AUTHENTIC translations of the Quran are by M. Pikthal and Dr. Yousuf Ali. These are recognized as the most authoritative in the Islamic world.

The translator is actually a Muslim, a 'hafiz' (someone who knows the Qur'an by heart) who studied at Al-Azhar and is also a Professor of Islamic Studies at the University of London. This translation has received many good reviews from Muslim and non-Muslim reviewers alike* and is well worth looking at, as well as those by Pickthall and Yusuf Ali.
