More One of the observable phenomena of OT studies in the second half of the 20th century has been the considerable attention devoted to the ancient translation of the Hebrew Scriptures into Greek known as the Septuagint (LXX). The era has produced an impressive number of text editions, monographs, theses and essays probing the LXX from a variety of perspectives. In the course of these studies the composite and complex nature of the LXX has been demonstrated many times, confirming the principle that the translation characteristics and transmission history of this document must be analyzed one book at a time.
