More Swami Sada Shiva Tirtha , The Ayurveda Encyclopedia: Natural Secrets to Healing, Prevention & Longevity Áyurveda is first and foremost a ‘spiritual science’ - offering scientific insights how live in harmony with nature and to grow toward the realization of one’s true nature or Soul. Medicine is only one aspect of this science of compassion. It is a science that must be lived as it is taught. It is not enough to say, ‘do as I say’. The best practitioner is one who is becoming more in harmony with their Soul and thus can lovingly teach how to heal by inspirational example.This book is composed of four sections:1. Áyurvedic Theory/Fundamentals ,2. Constitution (Doßha) and Illness Diagnosis, 3. Therapeutic Modalities, 4. Specific Illnesses and Diseases (Diagnosis, pathology, and therapies) Ayur Veda is in no way a spiritual science. The same as Acupuncture (Chinese Medicine) is no part of a spiritual science. If you want to learn Ayur Vedic Medicine properly, go to India and study it for a few years at the many universities it is taught at. The Ayur Veda is in fact the scripture about longevity.
