Probability, hypothesis testing, estimation, analysis of contingency tables, regression analysis, and analysis of variance are presented in a nonmathematical format and provide a basis for understanding statistics. This foundation is expanded to include such important topics in biomedical statistics as design and implementation of clinical trials, statistical evaluation of diagnostic tests, methods of randomization, and methods of analyzing survival data with incomplete observations.
