Soha a une sacrée personnalité. Et si son métissage n’y est pas étranger, sa révolution à elle aura été dès le départ de se faire une place dans un milieu presque exclusivement masculin, le reggae dance hall. Mais, influencée par une foultitude de sonorités, elle ne pouvait se contenter de cette expérience musicale. Algérienne d’origine, marseillaise de naissance, fan de chanson française depuis sa plus tendre enfance, passionnée par l’espagnol et la musique latine (sa rencontre avec la chanteuse Celia Cruz a bouleversé sa vie), sa musique n’a aucune frontière, si ce n’est celle de son inspiration. Elle s’est donc lancée...

Son premier album, D’ici et d’Ailleurs, rapproche les continents et les peuples. L’Afrique surplombe l’ensemble et le français en est la base. On retrouve de l’anglais, de l’espagnol, du français, des sonorités cubaines, jamaïcaines, jazzy, soul, reggae... On voyage sans en avoir réellement conscience. Le style est urbain, le soleil omniprésent et l’alternance de langues particulièrement plaisante, comme sur le titre "On ne sera Jamais". Une voix douce et élégante, limpide et chaude, du Cap Vert à Cuba, elle nous entraîne, l’air de rien et nous fait découvrir son univers. Un album séduisant qui tombe à pic, le printemps, les beaux jours... On ne pense plus qu’a l’été et déguster une Pina Colada avec dans les oreilles, la belle Soha... On s’y croirait. Pas encore ? Un peu de patience.
