More Dominique Chateau, Sartre et le cinéma Toute sa vie, Jean-Paul Sartre a profondément aimé le cinéma. Il a adoré le muet, s'est adapté non sans réticences à sa métamorphose sonore et, en tout cas, a toujours sympathisé avec la dimension populaire de cet art. Sartre et le cinéma veut d'abord rendre hommage à cette cinéphilie dont témoigne la prose étincelante des Mots. Il examine aussi la contribution scénaristique de Sartre, moins brillante, mais non dénuée d'intérêt, et son apport notable à la théorie du cinéma dans ses écrits de jeunesse. Il complète enfin ce survol en envisageant l'hypothèse d'une philosophie sartrienne du cinéma par deux biais : la conviction du philosophe même qu'il s'agit d'un art du destin, à l'opposite de la contingence de la vie ; d'autre part, les quelques thèmes sartriens, conçus indépendamment du cinéma, mais dont la puissance permet d'élargir l'horizon de cette philosophie du Septième art qu'il n'a pas réalisée. | DJVU |
