Pink Floyd - Open Your Heart (Lossless)

I missed out on Pink Floyd in the 70's. A bit too young really and as a teenager growing up in the early 80's I was into the metal of the day, my heroes being Sabbath and Ozzy.

The only real connection I had with Floyd at the time was "Another Brick In The Wall" which I hated. Commercial rubbish to get in the charts I thought. A mate who I worked with was a big Floyd fan and tried to

convince me that the song wasn't really representative of Pink Floyd. Many discussions ensued without him ever convincing me.

Then one day in 1985 he gave me a cassette tape. No information on it. He told me it did contain "that song" but said to give the tape a listen. It turned out to be The Wall and it really did change my world. The Wall is without a doubt my favourite piece of music by any band, ever. I still listen to it a couple of times a month.

More recently I've grown to love the Australian Pink Floyd Show, seeing them each year when they tour the UK. Watching their Albert Hall DVD I fell in love with "The Gunner's Dream". I love the emotion of The Final Cut anyway, and an idea grew to put together a selection of Floyd tracks that had the same sort of emotion.

So basically what you have here is my collection of songs which, to me anyway, fit together and create the emotion I was looking for. I've used different versions of songs where I think it needed it, chopped and changed a few bits and added stuff here and there. It's been a real labour of love over Christmas but I'm very happy at how it's turned out.

There's no deep meaning lyrically, and no deep intellect involved just songs that I like that I think fit well together. Each piece seemed to come naturally. The title comes from one of my favourite moments from The Wall, "open your heart....I'm coming home".

Ideally it's an album that should be listened to in it's entirety even though it's 77 minutes long. Maybe with a few glasses of wine or whatever? I'd like to share this with other Pink Floyd fans to see what you think. I've knocked up some artwork that I think suits the mood.
