More Panzerkampfwagen Skoda 35(t) (Waffen-Arsenal 21) By Horst Scheibert Im Jahr 1935 stellten die Skoda-Werke in der Tschechoslowakei einen neuen Panzerkampfwagen mit einem Gewicht von elf Tonnen her. Das Fahrzeug erhielt die Bezeichnung Skoda LTM 35 und besaß eine Anzahl fortschrittlicher Konstruktionsmerk male, die später von vielen Herstellern gepanzerter Fahrzeuge aufgegriffen wurden. Eines dieser Merkmale war der Einbau des Antriebsrades am Heck des Fahrzeuges, statt am Bug. Man entschloß sieh dazu, um den Kampfraum frei von der Kardanwelle und anderen beweglichen Teilen, die zur Fortbewegung des Fahrzeuges dienten, zu halten. Die Kraftübertragung lief damit, nur das Getriebe und das Seitenvorgelege passierend, direkt vom Motor zu den Antriebsradern. Druckbremsen, Getriebe und Steuerung wurden durch Preßluft bedient. Dies waren Neuerungen, die weitgehend den physischen Belastungen des Fahrers entgegen kamen. Ein zusatzliches Merkmal war das System der Radaufhängung, das das Gewicht gleichmäßig auf die kleinen Laufrollen verteilte. Dies erhöhte die Lebenszeit der Ketten auf einen Durchschnittswert von 6500 km. wahrend andere Panzer zu dieser Zeit nur einen Wert von 1600 km für die Lebenszeit ihrer Ketten erreichten.
