More This book makes the common techniques of paleomagnetism understandable to students of geology and explains how paleomagnetism is used to map the movement of major portions of the Earth's surface through time. It contains an extensive catalog of paleomagnetic results, which is used to describe and analyze paleogeography and tectonic movements and to place them in the context of prevailing hypotheses. A critical assessment of the data base in terms of quality and reliability is also made, and geographically, the entire Phanerozoic world except for the Pacific Ocean (and its rims) is covered. This book is unique for being results-based and for containing a paleopole catalog.
