More History is unlike other disciplines in that amateurs can read it and at the local level collect and disseminate information. This book helps people with an interest in pursuing the discipline by providing them with guidelines on how to get started. Local history is defined as a "study of past events, or of people or groups, in a given geographical area". The definition is expanded further in that it is described as a process that includes learning. That learning includes an understanding of the causes of events in the past.
