(F-40 Flugzeuge Der Bundeswehr 03) By S.Wache

Die UrsprÃ¼nge des franzÃ¶sischen TransÂportflugzeugs N2501 "Noratlas" gehen auf den deutschen Lastensegler Gotha GO 242 zurÃ¼ck, der in der Version GO 244 mit zwei Gnome Rhone 14 M 4/5 14 Zyl. 700 PS Sternmotoren ausgerÃ¼stet war und bei der deutschen Luftwaffe im 2. Weltkrieg vorwiegend an der Ostfront im Einsatz stand. Von dieser Maschine wurÂden wesentliche Konstruktionsmerkmale wie Schulterdeckerbauweise, doppelter LeitwerkstrÃ¤ger, Rumpfgondel mit HeckÂladetor und durchgehendem Laderaum Ã¼bernommen. Der Prototyp der Noratlas (N2500) von den Piloten und Technikern der Luftwaffe kurz "Nora" genannt, starÂtete am 10. September 1949 zu seinem Erstflug. Die Zelle war in Metallbauweise ausgefÃ¼hrt und als Triebwerke waren zwei Snecma 14R Doppelsternmotoren eingebaut. Diese wurden bei der SerienÂausfÃ¼hrung von zwei Snecma (Bristol) Hercules 759 Doppelsterntriebwerken mit Schiebersteuerung ersetzt. Dieses TriebÂwerk hatte sich schon im 2. Weltkrieg in zahlreichen Bombern und Transporten der RAF bewÃ¤hrt.
