More Naoki Urasawa. El DR Tenma es un prestigioso doctor que viaj¨® desde Japon a Alemania para estudiar cirujia. Pronto es reconocido su merito, pero debido a presiones de superiores y amigos, que le hacen considerar que las vidas no tienen el mismo valor segun el rango o poder de estas, el doctor el doctor se horroriza de esta frialdad y sigue su etica de hacer lo correcto. Un dia Tenma debe operar al alcalde, pero al mismo tiempo entra un ni?o con una bala en la cabeza. Sin pensarlo, Tenma decide operar al ni?o y dejar a cargo al politico a otro doctor. La operacion de Tenma sale exitosa, pero no la del alcalde y esto desprestigia a Tenma.
