This third edition of Robert Archer's classic step-by-step guide to the MMPI-A continues the tradition of the first two in presenting the essential facts and recommendations for students, clinicians, and researchers interested in understanding and utilizing this assessment instrument to its fullest. It offers a comprehensive account of adolescent development, reviews the reasons for the development of the MMPI-A, and presents and explains its salient elements--the basic validity and clinical scales, content and supplementary scales, and the MMPI-A Structural Summary Approach to interpretation. Single scale and code type correlates are provided and clinical examples illustrate the most recent principles of interpretation as applied to adolescents in a variety of settings--traditional clinical ones but also medical, forensic, and school or university settings.
