Miami based Keyboardist / Composer Mike Levine presents his first CD as leader "From The Heart" for Rhombus Records. Mike composed all tunes except the standard "That’s All" sung by Dana Paul. The CD combines Smooth Jazz, R&B, and Latin styles to construct his unique south Florida sound. The band on "From The Heart" includes Mike on keyboards with some of the hottest musicians in the Miami area, featuring special guests Hiram Bullock on Guitar and Vocals and Ed Calle on Sax.

Mike was a member of the Ross/Levine Band who released an album in the 80's called "That Summer Something" that featured Pat Methany and garnered much critical acclaim from the Jazz press and Radio.

Now its Mike's turn to step out front as leader on "From The Heart".

I would not categorize the entire album as a ‘smooth jazz’... Breaking out of the smooth theme, Levine introduces the bouncy R&B sounds of “Just Passin’ By” showcasing Bullock and the percussions of Levin and Richard Bravo. The piano-man really shines and sparkles all over on his nice straight ahead piano burner, “Free Fall.” ...
