More Madhu Viswanathan, "Measurement Error and Research Design" Most books on measurement present a statistical orientation or an orientation toward measurement theory. Although these approaches are valuable, Measurement Error and Research Design is motivated by the lack of literature that enhances understanding of measurement error, its sources, and its effects on responses. This book’s purpose is to enhance the design of research, both of measures and of methods. An author maintained website, http://www.business.uiuc.edu/~madhuv/msmt.html features datasets and suggestions for using the book in courses. Summary: Real insights for the pros and highly skimmable for students Rating: 5 Knowing the author's credentials in this field, I expected this book to be good, but not this great. For those who have used scales and measures over the years, this really has some eye-opening insights. What I really liked are the figures, tables, and flowcharts. About 75% of the meaning of the book you can get through these modalities. I plan on using this in a graduate methods class next fall. Even if a grad student just skims the graphics, they'll have learned an incredible amount. This can't help but be a classic in this field. Not all books ... appear on the homepage. In order not to miss many of them follow ebooks section (see top of each page on AH)
