More Bob Kowalski - Martin AM-1/1-Q Mauler Naval Fighters Series No 24 This is a comprehensive account of the Martin AM Mauler. Besides a nice development history by author Bob Kowalski there are some interesting pilots' accounts integrated into the squadron histories. The text is rounded out with an explanation as to why the Douglas AD was preferred over the AM, an overview of other BT class aircraft, AM survivors, and AM model kits. Finally, a summary of AM accidents. But the the real value of this book lies in the wealth of photographs and manual illustrations. One could have only wished for more close up shots. Most of the ones we do get are cockpit and landing gear. About the only nit in the title: it should read "Martin AM-1/-1Q" instead of "Martin AM-1/1-Q". All in all a very worthwhile purchase for the modeler and the general enthusiast alike.
