More Repertory of Practice of United Nations Organs Volume V is one of six volumes of Supplement No. 7 of the Repertory of Practice of United Nations Organs to be published. Supplement No. 7 has been prepared by the Secretariat of the United Nations pursuant to General Assembly resolution 5 11209 of 17 December 1996. In paragraph 4 of that resolution, the General Assembly requested the Secretary-General "to expedite the preparation and publication of the supplements to . . . the Repertory of Practice of United Nations Organs". Supplement No. 7 reviews the Charter-related practice of United Nations organs during the period from l January 1985 to 3 1 December 1989. It covers four regular sessions of the General Assembly, the fortieth to the forty-fourth, as well as the thirteenth, fourteenth and fifteenth special sessions. It also covers, where appropriate,' 269 meetings of the Security Council, fiom the 2566th meeting in the fortieth year of the Council to the 2834th meeting in the forty-third year. In addition, it covers 12 sessions, and parts thereof, of the Economic and Social Council, fiom the organizational session in 1985 to the second regular session of 1988. It also covers four regular sessions of the Trusteeship Council, from the fifty-second in 1985 to the fifty-fifth in 1988, as well as three special sessions, the sixteenth, and seventeenth in 1986 and the eighteenth in 1988. In some cases, reference is made to decisions taken by organs at a later date in order to complete the treatment of a particular point.
