Three stories of love and coincidence around the theme of dates in Paris.

Two street musicians alert us that a rendezvous can be surprising. In the first of the triptych, Esther learns her boyfriend may be cheating on her, so she arranges to meet a flirtatious stranger at a cafe. When she goes, surprises abound. In "The Benches of Paris," a couple meets in parks to stroll, kiss and talk. She already has a boyfriend, so while he's away, they plan to spend two days in a hotel, pretending to be tourists. Surprises alter their plans. In part three, a painter arranges to meet a Swedish tourist at a cafe. Then he sees a passing stranger, pursues her, and forgets the Swede. Alas, she's married, but advises him about his love life. Her advice gets mixed results.

Dans différents quartier de Paris, trois histoires de séduction amoureuse, trois variations sur le mensonge des apparences et les paradoxes de la vérité. Des images impressionnistes de Paris et une mise en scène du doute perpétuel.

Le Rendez-vous de sept heures : Tandis qu’Esther est très éprise d’Horace, celui-ci rencontre d’autres jeunes filles lors de rendez-vous dans un café de Beaubourg. Informée par un ami, Esther va piéger Horace en se servant de la dernière conquête de celui-ci.

Les Bancs de Paris : Lui exerce en province comme prof de philo, mais habite en banlieue parisienne. Elle demeure chez son fiancé auprès duquel elle s'ennuie. Un jour, Elle et Lui se rencontrent, se plaisent et entament une histoire d’amour. Mais Elle hésite toujours à quitter son fiancé. Alors qu’Elle et Lui jouent les touristes à Paris en résidant, le temps d’un week-end, à l’hôtel, Elle y aperçoit son fiancé en galante compagnie.

Mère et Enfant 1907 : Un jeune peintre reçoit une Suédoise venue visiter Paris. Pas très séduite par sa peinture qu’elle critique, elle veut aller au musée Picasso et il l’y conduit. Ils se quittent en se donnant rendez-vous le soir à La Coupole. En partant, le peintre fait la connaissance d’une jeune femme venue spécialement pour voir le tableau de Picasso, Mère et Enfant de 1907. De fil en aiguille, il lui montre ses propres œuvres qui l’enthousiasment, mais elle doit rejoindre son mari. Le soir, le peintre se rend à La Coupole, mais pas la Suédoise.
