Lazard "Luftwaffe Air Crews, Battle Of Britain, 1940" 'Luftwaffe Air Crews' describes the uniforms worn by the German airmen who took part in the great aerial attack on the British Isles in the late summer of 1940. The struggle for supremacy in the sky lasted for six weeks, and came to be known as the Battle of Britain. Here, described in minute detail, are the uniforms, flight clothing, flight equipment and insignia worn during that period by the fighter and bomber personnel of the Luftwaffe: the "Tuchrock" service tunic; the "Fliegerbluse" service blouse; the "Waffenrock" uniform tunic; the Luftwaffe shirt; trousers and breeches; bootwear; flying suits; lifejackets; goggles; and sleeping bags--all are illustrated and described in detail. Black and white action photographs appear throughout.
