About the Author

Pamela Rice Hahn is a full-time freelance writer who's worked with and written about

computers since 1969, starting with a college-era job that involved using alcohol and

cotton swabs to clean the tape heads on humongous IBM 364 computers. In addition to

serving as a contributing editor to a national computer magazine and frequent columnist

and reviews contributor to others, Pam works as a writer and technical editor for

technology publishers, among them Macmillan Computer Publishing, Sybex, Osborne,

Quessing, DDC, and Syngress Publishing. She was lead author on How to Use Microsoft

Access 2000 (ISBN: 0672314916).

Pam's experience goes beyond just writing about computers. In fact, only one of her

last two books is computer- and Internet-related: The Unofficial Guide to Online

Genealogy (ISBN: 0028638670). She's also the author of Macmillan Teach Yourself Grammar
