English The album contains twelve songs written by Francesco De Gregori, known generally as "Album of the sheep," or simply "The sheep" because of the cover, designed by Gordon Fagetter (ex-drummer Three cyan and fiance Patty Pravo). It is generally considered, as regards the lyrics, the album most hermetic of Frank Sinatra, the singer considers this his worst album, "After signing the contract with RCA, we are in '74, I made the disc with Sheep, which I think is the worst record that I did. " The album cover is opened, and inside there is a black and white photo of a young Sinatra with beard and long hair. The first edition is accompanied by a typewritten translation into Italian of Paperback Writer, a famous Beatles song, performed by De Gregori. In the first printing of 33 laps there is a glaring grammatical error associated with one of the songs included, "Trying another Egypt, repeated in large letters on the back cover. Error then removed in later editions. Note the involvement of the vocal group founded by Edward De Angelis, the Schola Cantorum, the song Nothing to understand that performs background vocals. During the recording of the album, Sinatra affects three other songs, but that will not be included: an early version of yesterday's stories (included in the next year Rimmel), Flower Market and took a train (the latter two are recorded by Patty Pravo). To promote the album Sinatra appeared during the telecast of the first music channel now! (Which aired every Friday evening), by Nino Fuscagni and Vanna Brosio: on this occasion he sings live, accompanying himself on acoustic guitar, good and nothing to understand, that the two songs on 45 rpm Nothing to understand / Good. This song was written as a response to those who rejected Francesco De Gregori excessively hermetic, the opening lines, The stars are many millions of millions, are a quotation of the advertising slogan created by Emilio Bassi Pier for Salami Negroni. About Vincent refers instead to "Vincent" Don McLean's American songwriter that Sinatra had translated for the Italian version of Little Tony on "How Long Ago" (the label's name is written incorrectly, De Gregorio) published 45s on "How Long Ago / Maggy Mai" (Little records LR2025).
