However, winzip complains while opening the zip and as warned there is no file in the display and extract button is greyed.

The trick i did was to add another file the archive to make the extract button visible and then choose to extract all files. It worked!

use winar, tools repair archive, trat as zip..

it will rename the problematic file..

Everything was fine. A fast server, the "correct" password - wouldn't I have read that some guys did have problems unpacking your file, I would not have noticed it at all. My batches did handle it without any error. Might be some "modern" programs like Winzip can not handle it, but also old programs like the good ole unzip do it on first try. And they also automatically rename the ":" to another character making the OS happy :-)

Yup, trick of adding file and extracting all worked for me too :-)

Pereimenovivay v "Elektor 2005-07-08" a ti samto proboval? ZIP voobshe ne otkrivaet, a WINRAR ne pereimenovivaet, 7ZIP tozhe samoie!

Doesn´t work! I tried also with adding a file and repairing .

It showed first perfect in WinRar and worked the extraction process till 99%, but then the output is always the same: a file named "Elektor 2005-07" with no extension and 0 kb filesize :-((

Can anyone please upload Elektor 2003 part 6 only. the last part which was posted earlier ....ru. the rapidshare deleted it and i only don't have that part other than that i have all please upload it anyone.. please.. i will be really greateful to you......

Fixed problem! Used WinRAR to repair file, then it renamed file from Elektor 2005-07:08 to Elektor 2005-07_08 and everything works fine. Thank you for the challenge and magazine Mr. PiXmo!

Problem fixed only when I use winrar v.3.5, earlier I tried with version 3.3 and nothing. Thanks to all, including of course to PiXmo.

Hi there,

First, I apologize for the problem some of you had in extracting the file. As you may have noticed, it was my first sharing here and I had to figure out how to do that the left way. It was a hard job for me because I didn't find the english faq file...

I don't know why the "/" were replaced by ":" in the file name ".pdf". I guess it is because I use a Macintosh with french keyboard. Sometimes ASCII can be changed when transfered from Mac to PC. So bad.

So, I compacted a new file "Elektor 2005-07-08.pdf" and uploaded here:

It has the same size and password. You would be able to extract it without problem (I hope). Let me know if it works.

Also, I used ZIP method because I can't create RAR file on a Mac (I can extract it though). I can only create ZIP or SIT archives and I thank ZIP will be more friendly for PC users...

I will continue to work on this problem and I hope my next post (may be the september Elektor issue...) will be error free...

I had bad luck .... wasted a whole afternoon on it. Even got winrar 3.5 installed... It reported "wrong password". I tried the repair, but nothing seem to work. Damn it! Perunje! Caramba! Caray!

Anyone able to upload the rar without password? I would be very greateful and happy... since I'm into electronics as well. Thanking you, my friends! Kind Regards from jjj3 from Chile
