NVIDIA today released version 260.63 BETA of their GeForce/ION driver package, adding support for the GTS 450 GPU, Blu-ray 3D playback on 3D TVs, and more. Performance is also improved in several games.

Beginning with this release, NVIDIA 3D Vision drivers are now part of this GeForce/ION driver package. The 3D Vision drivers have been renamed 3D Vision Controller Drivers and consist of the 3D Vision IR emitter drivers only. You can read more about the change here.

Here are the new features and fixes available in v260.63 BETA:

* Adds support for GTS 450 based video cards

* Enables playback of Blu-ray 3D movies to HDMI 1.4 3D TVs (see 3D Vision Blu-ray 3D)

* Adds Dolby TrueHD and lossless DTS-HD Master Audio support on GTX 460 GPUs

* Adds HD 24-bit, 96 KHz and 192 KHz multi-channel audio sampling rate support on GTX 400, GT 240, GT 220, and GT 210 GPUs

* Improves driver installation process

* Updates HD Audio driver to v1.1.9.0

* Updates PhysX System Software to 9.10.0514

* Improves compatibility of several DirectX 7, 8, and 9 based games in Windows 7

* Fixes several issues across various GPUs, games, and operating systems

Several 3D Vision specific updates are included as well. Remember, beginning with this driver release, 3D Vision is included in the GeForce/ION driver package:

* Adds 3D Vision streaming support for Firefox 4 and Google Chrome

* Adds Sony 3D Sweep Panorama picture format support

* Adds support for BenQ X2410 and NEC F23W2A monitors

* Adds support for ViewSonic PJD6251 and Sanyo PDG-DWL2500 projectors

* Adds 3D Vision game profiles for 17 games including FIFA 11, Final Fantasy XIV Benchmark, Singularity, and more

* Updates 3D Vision game profiles for 5 games including Mafia II, StarCraft II, and more
