More Die Tiger - Familie (Waffen-Arsenal 56) By Horst Scheibert Fragen nach weilcrem Material Uber den Tiger und die Tatsache, dab die Bande I (Tiger II und 2 (Panzerjager, in ihm gab es Abbildungen des aus dem Tiger entstandenen Jagdtigers) dieser Reihe seil längerem vergriffen sind, ließen es uns angebraehl erscheinen, in einem weiteren Heft die ganze Tigerfamilie vorzufahren. Ursprünglich war nur ein schwererer Panzer als der bereits im Frieden entwickelte und gefertigte Panzerkampfwagen IV vorgesehen. Als aber die hierfür bei den Finnen Porsche und Menschet entwickelten Ver-suchsk(Instruktionen (VK) das in der militärischen Forderung gesetzte Höchstgewicht von 40 Tonnen weit überschritten, erhielten die Firmen Daimler-Benz und MAN eine neue F'orderung für einen Panzer dieses Gewichts mit der Bezeichnung "Panther". Da inzwischen aber aufgrund der neuen starken russischen Panzer ein stärkerer Ubcrwachungs-Panzcr gefragt war. wurden auch die Versuchskonstruktionen (VK) 4501 (P)orschc und (Htenschel weilerentwickelt. Wahrend der Panther die Bezeichnung Panzerkraftwagen V erhielt. hieben die aus den VK entwickelten Panzerkampfwagen VI mit Namen Tiger.
